The media countdown for the honeymoon period or 100 day period of the USDP government at work is a little bit insult to the intelligence of people of Burma, who really know what kind of government they’ve gotten already. We know exactly what SPDC junta would offer to us after the national convention, the 2008 constitution, the 2010’s sham elections and its outcome. The regime can’t fool us and neither cant media needless to say. Whether the USDP government could be more of the same or even worse then Than Shwe junta, is the question we keep asking ourselves.
The flat out lies of vice-president Tin Aung Myint Oo and the foreign minister Wonna Maung Lwin saying “no political prisoners in Burma” started to unveil the true nature of the USDP government as a matter of fact.
The civil war campaign against the Karen ethnic group causing half a millions of people to flee into Thailand is even worse. The fighting has been going on until now. The tormenters’ mentality of the military dominant rule remains the same as a matter of fact.
By violating its ceasefire agreement itself, the army launched the frequent attacks against the Kachin ethnic group causing more than ten thousand people fleeing into China. The human rights violations especially the sexual violence against the ethnic women and the random attacking the civilians in the Kachin areas by the USDP government have been going on as a matter of fact.
The legitimacy of the National League for Democracy has been blatantly denied by the USDP government. The interior minister had recently sent the letters to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and U Aung Shwe threatening that the NLD’s current political activities are illegal as a matter of fact.
In the worse case of scenario, the army has launched an air strike against the North Shan State Army yesterday. This is the most stupid move the regime ever made. Even Than Shwe junta wouldn’t dare to do such thing. This is clear violation of the international law, the violation of the Geneva Convention of course. Let’s follow the news in details.
In the Radio Free Asia news on July, 13, 2011: According to North Shan State Army, the Burmese army has launched an air strike. The strike occurs at Wan Kai Phat region near Lwesai Township according to Col. Sai Laug Tsai of SSA. “According to our frontline’s reports the fights broke out between the Burmese army and SSA at Mai Yae Township. The enemy’s light infantry 286 and 287 had faced a confrontation with SSA. Meantime, “the government air force had dropped eight or nine bombs by presumably MIG 26 in the battle field. Two people were injured on SSA side in due course, according to the report.” said by Col. Sai.
According to SSA, the government had used two air planes in the war the day after the SSA raided a camp occupied by the government army. And, it was the first air strike for ten years period, it said.
Some observers assumed that such strike might be related to the May 21, 2011 incident when both South SSA and North SSA were united to engage the joint military operations for the future. However, Col. Sai said that the government’s current civil war campaigns against the ethnic groups would never bring peace and stability among the nation. Therefore, the SSA always offered the government for the peaceful negotiation.
The dark age mentality against the ethnic brothers by waging wars has come into the term as “to protect union” endorsed by Ne Win, the pioneer of the military dictatorship in Burma, and has continued to employ by the current regime as a matter of fact.
And, what else? Oh yes, the justice, it’s one of Thein Sein’s promises. The social injustices have been going on everywhere. The farmers are kicked out of their lands. The workers have been running away from the jobs that never offered any pay or not even enough foods. The original people have been bullied by the big brothers, the cronies, by the backing of the authorities, as a matter of fact.
So, what do you think? Should we keep following the good news of the new government’s pipe dream? Should we do another 100 days countdown? Should we wait another twenty plus years for USDP government to kill the time?

Just wait and see twenty plus years. If nothing happen, just wait and see another twenty plus years. If nothing happen again, just wait and see twenty plus years again and again until you die. If nothing happen again, just wait and see another twenty plus years in another life. That is a major strategy that Burmese activists including you are doing.
