Ironic it may be where “words do speak louder than actions”, a thoughtful way for the US to engage Myanmar in more than a decade officially and successfully, US should try and restrain the use of sensitive colonial era word “Burma”. Burma was a traditional name spoken by the British which was literally incorrect. Burma denotes only Burmese where Myanmar includes all ethnic nationalities in the country.
If US plays a mediator role between the government of Myanmar and opposition groups, in cooperation with Asean and China, to close the chapter of Myanmar's civil war and thorny issues, we can never really know it might become a dream ticket for Myanmar, though the verdict relies solely on the Myanmar military government.
