Flood happened in Mandalay and interfaith cooperation responded the relief for the victims.

Since heavy rain happened in Mandalay on Oct 6 to 10 many part of Mandalay city is flooded. Especially in the Chan Mya Thar Si Township, Pyay Gyi Ta Gun Township, Patheingyi Township and some part of Chan Aye Thar San Township. There are many victims because of flood.

Our Interfaith Team Respond

Our interfaith team is formed by Buddhist, Islam, Hindu and Christian and different ethnic groups and different social organizations.

On October 8^th, Initiated by Mandalay YMCA and Asia Light Monastery (Pyin Oo Lwin) and other social organizations, we started to get the data from flood effective area and organized the relief program. Our team contributed donation by our own and organized to get donation form individual donors.

On October 9^th, we started to deliver rice and water and medicines to victims from Aung Pin Lei and locations in Chan Mya Thar Si Township.

On October 10^th, we keep deliver rice, drinking water and medicines. Please see following information what we have done for the flood victims.

Above support is very few than we the victim really needs. There are some other volunteer group are helping to the flood victims. However, we need more assistance to cover real needs.

Estimate Time for the relief

The relief period will be taken about 10 days. There can be many unseen factors to help flood victim in term of food, health, children education.

What we need for the victim and estimated amount

We estimate the following materials and the amount for victims to resettle in their own residents. It will cover 25000 people (about 2500 households) for 10 days.
