Things appear to be trending towards "better". I say "appear" only because the talks need to be followed with concrete and credible actions.
Many people are very optimistic. That is a good moral but not the right ways to solve the problems. If you really want to change Burma to the right direction, you have to change or amend the Constitution first. If you don't have rock solid constitution with free and fair election, you go nowhere. Constitution is the foundation of the country otherwise you are giving Paracetamol to cancer patients. One might urge that, doing something is better than nothing however if that something is wrong (as you already know), doing nothing is better than something wrong. Since Daw Su is very genius, I really hope that she will choose the right ways to solve the problems.
